(Although, in terms of performance, this pulled the IMC away from the CPU die and pushed it to the separate graphics die, thereby cutting off certain advantages to having the "uncore" coupled with the execution units.Ax200 vs 201 I wanted to upgrade wifi 6 (ax200 or ax201) card in my laptop. MUCH easier to put a 32nm and a 45nm die on the same package. With Clarkdale, Intel moved to 32nm for the CPU core.

It would have been too costly to put two 45nm dies on the same package. Lynnfield was a "tock" release, so Intel stuck to designing ONLY a new microarchitecture on an old FAB process: 45nm. The confusion in this case was caused by Intel, not HP. But because HP used both core revisions with the same hardware shell, they included the physical display ports on the back panel in case the system was configured with Clarkdale.

Intel created the new "single chip" chipsets for the Core i series to be able to pass-through graphics integrated on the CPU package even though initial SKUs did not have this capability (the two core revisions were released mere months apart).

technically it has a separate graphics + IMC die on-package). Lynnfield does not have iHD, but Clarkdale does (well. For LGA 1156, only certain Intel CPUs have iHD: http:/ / / Compare.aspx? ids=43546,42915, The graphics are provided by either a dedicated graphics expansion card or an Intel CPU that includes Intel HD Graphics. It's almost like the onboard graphics adapter is "turned off" somehow? Windows does not recognize it and BIOS does not either.Īnybody run into something like this? Any help would be great!Īccording to HP's specs for that system family - http:/ / support/ TechSupport/ Document.jsp? objectID=c02170974 &lang=en &cc=us &taskId=101 &prodSeriesId=4191693 &prodTypeId=12454 - the 3130 uses Intel's H57 Express Chipset, which does not have integrated graphics. The Intel drivers listed on the HP Website for XP was installed, but error'ed out. I would think it would also show the other adapter? After reading online, I believe it is an Intel Graphics adapter. Went to device manager, only thing shown under display adapters is the ATI 4550 card. Restarted into BIOS setup and choose "Primary Video Adapter", but it only lists PCIe as the primary and no other options. I put the card back in and it works fine. Plus, I can put the card in other teachers computers and not students computers that will only be using MS Office and Internet. It dangles out too far into the next row and I'm trying prevent anything before it happens. I know, some are wondering, "Why remove the ATI card?" Since these computers are in a "Lab" environment, kids tend to goof off and I really don't want them playing with the "Y" dual vga cable pigtail that came with the ATI card. At first, I thought I would just take the PCI-e card out, but at startup, I got beep codes. However, I would like to remove the ATI graphics card and revert back to the integrated onboard graphics, but I cannot get it to work.

System came with Windows 7 pro, but the teacher wanted XP for this upcoming year, so I put our XP on a system and after searching for the right drivers, I got everything up and running. Also, it came with a PCI-e 16X ATI 4550 graphics card. We just purchased 12 new HP Pro 3130 MT's and it came with DVI-D and VGA integrated on the motherboard. OK, I have been trying to figure this out, but I 'm at a loss.
